What changes is the topcoat chemistry, and that's what drives the warranty spread: three years on Silver, four on Platinum, five on Titanium. Why Does Car Size Change the Price So Much?

Platinum sits in the middle for a reason — it's the sensible default for most owners who plan to keep a car four or five years.

What Happens During Installation?

Installation runs 24 to 48 hours, and most of that isn't film. It's what happens before the film.

The sequence is paint assessment, then correction if the paint needs it, then decontamination — iron fallout removal, tar removal, clay bar. This stage matters more than people expect. Film is transparent and permanent for its lifespan. Anything left on the paint gets sealed under it and magnified, and you'll be looking at it for years. A shop that skips decontamination to save half a day is locking Lahore's road grime under a clear layer.

Then the film goes on: cut and prepped, laid panel by panel with slip solution and squeegee, edges tucked and wrapped, and a final inspection under focused light. Aftercare: The First 48 Hours Decide Everything

More film gets damaged in the first week after installation than in the first year of driving. Not by stones — by owners.

The rules for the first 48 hours are short. Don't wash the car. Don't take it through rain if you can help it. Don't touch the edges, don't pick at anything that looks like it's lifting, and don't panic about the haze. Small water pockets or a slightly cloudy look under the film are normal while the slip solution evaporates and the adhesive pulls down. They clear on their own. The instinct to "fix" them by pressing at an edge is the single most common way a good install gets compromised.

Give it a week before the first proper wash if you can.

How Do You Look After PPF Long-Term?

Hand wash, two buckets, pH-neutral shampoo. That's most of it.

The specifics that matter: keep a pressure washer at a sensible distance and never aim it straight at an edge or a seam — high-pressure water at close range will find any lip in the film and get under it. Skip automatic brush washes entirely. Avoid anything petroleum-based, anything solvent-heavy, and bug removers not rated for film. Get bird droppings and tree sap off quickly rather than letting them sit and etch, which is doubly true through Lahore's dusty months when they bake on hard.

They're not alternatives, and the question comes up in nearly every consultation.

Ceramic coating is a chemical layer measured in microns. It makes paint hydrophobic, adds depth to the gloss, and makes washing easier. What it does not do is stop a stone. Anyone who tells you a coating provides impact protection is overselling it.

PPF is a physical layer measured in mils — roughly a hundred times thicker. It absorbs impact. If your worry is stone chips on the motorway, you need film. If your worry is water spots and washing effort, a coating solves that at a fraction of the cost. Most people who want both put film on first and coat over the top.

How Do You Choose an Installer in Lahore?

Ask three questions and the field narrows fast.

What's your decontamination process? If the answer is vague, walk. This is the step that gets skipped under time pressure and the one you can't undo.
